What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a several thousand years old Chinese medical treatment, one of the core parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine which also includes cupping (witness Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympic swimmer), herbal medicine, massage, and other treatment techniques.
Acupuncture advantages:
1. non toxic treatment, meaning no chemicals involved
2. does not lead to dependency of any kind
3. does not impact brain function like most pain killers do
4. negligible side effects
5. more convenient and less expensive than pain killers
These are some of the reasons why acupuncture has been a treatment of choice for chronic pain and multiple other illnesses and injuries for centuries in many Asian countries (e.g. China, Korea, Japan...) and has been making inroads in North America as well.
